About five minutes after I posted last, the Onyx 400f arrived at my
door...talk about coincidence! I spent a long afternoon in the studio
with bassist Henry Boos recording our new single "Behind". It should be
posted on PureVolume and MySpace within a few days. The Mackie Onyx
preamps sound nothing short of professional, yielding a very warm and
clear sound. They help make the Beta 57A extremely versatile, as I
recorded the Parkwood acoustic guitar and the vocals on it. I'm still
getting used to the preamp and the Traction 2 software, but hopefully
things will become easier after a week or so of practice. Below are
some pictures of me unboxing the Mackie! Enjoy.
