Summing Up
After about two weeks of use and two recordings, I can safely say that
I absolutely love the Mackie preamp. I put all of my trust into this
company for their quality of sound and excellence in craftsmanship.
After hearing the sound quality of other firewire preamps in it's price
range, the Onyx 400F is hands down the best buy. The simple and clean
layout of the controls makes for a pleasant studio experience. Lately
I've been using the Shure Beta 57A to track Vocals and Acoustic Guitar.
It will have to do until I can get my hands on a good Condenser,
hopefully being the Neumann TLM 103. I've been reading reviews and it
supposedly sounds exactly like the legendary U87 in a blind mic
test...We'll see. If you'd like to check out the recordings that the
